AGENDA Winter 2021 Issue #14, “Comfy Cozy”

Posted on

Purchase Magazine

Since many of us have spent the better part of last year in our pjs, the Winter 2021, Issue #14 is appropriately titled, “Comfy Cozy,” opening with Fashion Talk by Kaylene Peoples: “Pyjama or Pajamas: The Evolution of Sleepwear.”

Carol Alt at 60 looks 30 on a bad day. She has always been a “natural” beauty, and she can now add “ageless” to her list of accomplishments. One of the greatest of all time supermodels-turned-actress is on Agenda magazine’s cover this issue. Alt stars in the fashion editorial, “The Carol Alt Factor: Sensational at Sixty.” (Fashion Whisperer). Also on the front and back cover, Carol Alt is photographed by Ezequiel de la Rosa and styled by Ty-Ron Mayes.

In Beauty by Shahada Karim, the article “Cold Weather Care” guides us through our transition from fall to winter with solid beauty advice. “The Pandemic Files: Maskne” is a review of the following products to nourish those who suffer from facemask irritation: Umbriam Clay Purifying Treatment Bar, Uma Deeply Clarifying Aloe Toner, Lapis Oil Balancing Facial Oil, and Silvon Fabric Mask. It’s time to get ready for your close up with “Beauty and the Pandemic: Zoom-Ready.” For the foodie in all of us, Karim interviews chef Susannah Sprague-Lerma in “The ‘Joyfull’ Way to Go Vegan!”

Melanie Wise of Wise Remedies interviews NYC physician Dr. William Gibbs, who successfully helps his patients overcome chronic pain. Ty-Ron Mayes chats with actress Nichole Galicia (Django Unchained, Defiance) about how Galicia is enriching the lives of young females with her nonprofit, The Orchid Foundation.

Sheryl Aronson (Arting Around) interviews Ovation Award-winning choreographer Janet Roston about her pandemic-inspired YouTube production, You Can’t Stop the Beat – Hairspray Finale Spectacular; also featuring J.D. Lewis—actor/art director and founder of The Acting Lab. Both articles show that people are still doing great things in spite of these difficult times . . . they’re just doing it virtually! We get the opportunity to interview podcaster/producer Hammond Chamberlain, who is the host of not one, but two popular podcasts: Soundography and his own creation, Beyond the Playlist. Continuing with Agenda‘s “Comfy Cozy” theme, binge-watching and binge-reading has really become quite the pastime!

Zac Baldwin’s reviews will keep you entertained with his recommendations of these classic collections. His article “Binge-Reading: When Binge-Watching Is Not Enough” reviews the following movie-turned-book series: Lord of The Rings, Harry Potter, Dr. Doolittle, The Wizard of Oz, etc. Read the reviews of The Solo Traveler by George Harris, and the New York Times Bestseller Home by Harlan Coben. Newly released is the Universal Studios movie News of the World, starring Tom Hanks. The film has already received rave reviews, and is now streaming on several platforms!

Fashion is in full effect with Black Design Collective’s Okera Banks of OTG Designs. Banks has carved a niche with her halter necks, strapless harem jumpsuits, and loose-fit cardigans. And Introducing Russian-born model Elizabeth Rush—Ash Gupta’s Face of the Season. Our runway shows feature Rachel Mills, NEONYT, Major Minor; ESNE Designer Showcase and L’Oreal Professionnel “Style & Color Trophy” in collaboration with RINDA SALMUN. We close this issue with Fashion Archives: “Classic Fashion” with designs from the past that last from designers Chado Ralph Rucci, Carolina Herrera, Diane Von Furstenberg, Marc Bouwer & Betsey Johnson.

Go grab yourself a latte, curl up with the latest issue of Agenda, and we’ll meet you inside. Oh, and the dress code is . . . Pajamas!
