PASSING MYSELF DOWN TO THE GRAVE: A WOMAN’s RISE FROM DARKNESS is a personal memoir that retells a spiritual journey through “the Hades of my existence,” says Sheryl Aronson who awoke one day in 2001 with a sense of dread and anxiety that had never existed before. Slowly her soul drained away, and her life resembled THE BOOK OF JOB where Satan said to God, “Take everything away from Job and see if he still believes in you.” In 2002, Sheryl Aronson received the devastating news she had breast cancer. From that moment until 2013 she trudged through 12 years of agony. Sheryl fought off internal and external demons yet mystical and miraculous experiences occurred throughout.

This memoir acts as preventative medicine for women who have entered darkness, no matter what the reason then sought a helping hand. It also shows that one can be reborn again and succeed in life no matter how old. Another treat from PASSING MYSELF DOWN TO THE GRAVE is the screenplay that exists within the story. Sheryl wrote a short film called PASSING in October 2013. Ironically, the main character Cleo, a 40-year-old mother whose life was destroyed by cancer and chemo, seemed to have morphed into (PASSING) the screenplay’s heroine. Cleo, Rory and Levy, (two young men) meet as strangers randomly in a forest; all with the same mission . . . to kill themselves. Although each person seeks death, all the characters discourage one another from following through with their suicides. PASSING parallels Sheryl Aronson’s own experiences. Like THE BOOK OF JOB, everything was taken away from Sheryl: her physical and mental health, her material and emotional security . . . However, God gave her everything back. Want to find out how?
