AGENDA-COVER-SUMMER-2019-ISSUE-8

Summer is here and we’re ready to have some fun in the sun with you. Maybe you’re planning to take a trip or take up a new hobby. Either way, this is the season of leisure, barbecues, and adventure! This issue, titled “Summer 2019” is filled with lots of fashion runway and editorials. Our cover was photographed by Dimitry Sovyak. Ash Gupta 838 Media Group shoots a yoga editorial and our Summer 2019 Face of the Season editorial stars Livia Pillmann, photographed by Sahil Rohira. Shahada Karim tackles topics of beauty, fitness apparel, and infrared beauty regiments with the articles “The Infrared Insta-Hype,” “Skincare Simplified,” and “Peak Performance: Fit, Form, & Function.”

In Fashion Talk, titled “Reupholstering Me,” Agenda‘s editor-in-chief Kaylene Peoples talks about choosing to take control of my wardrobe in the tradition of DIY! Sheryl Aronson interviews platinum selling recording artist Jeffrey Osborne in her column Arting Around. Designer and co-founder Kevan Hall of Black Design Collective talks about a new community, designed to aid and support Black designers. Their inaugural event awarded a $10,000.00 scholarship to a worthy design student, and they honored Academy Award-winner costume designer Ruth E. Carter.

Glenn Gordon shoots a men’s fashion editorial with model Kai Fink, titled “Dream in Black and White, Live in Color.” This issue we feature runway from Australia and Spain with collections and backstage looks from Anteprima, AJE, and Jonathan Simkhai. The Fashion Archives is all about trendsetting by the celebrities of the past. We discover the 1920 fashion divas Joan Crawford, Greta Garbo, Louise Brooks, and more! Some of those styles are still a big part of our wardrobe today.
